Our Story

In 1962 what was known as the Highway Chapel Mission of First Baptist Church, Barbourville officially became an independent and self-supporting congregation called East Barbourville Baptist Church.  In the early days we were just a Sunday School class meeting once a week in a borrowed building. Over the last 50 years God's power and presence have been at work in the life of this congregation resulting in a number of land purchases and expansion projects that have allowed us to make room for continued growth.
